In Daraganj locality, on the bank of the Ganga, is the Sankatmochan Hanuman Temple. It is said that Saint Samarth Guru Ramdasji had established the idol of Lord Hanuman Here. The idols of Shiva-Parvati, Ganesh, Bhairav, Durga, Kali and Navgrah are also enshrined in the premises of the temple. Nearby are Shri Ram-Janki temples and HaritMadhava temple.

It is believed that this strange statue of Hanuman is south-facing and 20 feet long. It is believed to be at least 6 feet below the surface. In the Sangam city, they are known as Bade Hanuman, Fort Hanuman, Late Hanuman and Dam Hanuman. It is believed that Kamada Devi is buried under his left leg and Ahiravan under his right leg. In his right hand are the images of Rama and Lakshmana, and in his left the image of Garuda. All the wishes of the devotees who come here are fulfilled.
It is said that after the victory over Lanka, when Hanumanji was returning, he felt tired on the way. So at the behest of Sita Mata, he lay down here on the banks of the Sangam. Keeping this in mind, a temple of Lord Hanuman was built here.

This temple is believed to be at least 600-700 years old. It is said that the king of Kannauj had no children. As a remedy, his guru said, ‘Build such a replica of Hanumanji who went into the abyss to rescue Ram Lakshman from the cobra. This idol of Hanuman ji should be brought from the Vindhyachal mountain. “When the king of Kannauj did the same, he brought the idol of Hanuman from Vindhyachal by boat. Suddenly the boat capsized and the boat capsized. The king was very sad to see this and returned to his kingdom. After many years of this incident, when the water level of the Ganges receded, Ram Bhakt Baba Balgiri Maharaj, who was trying to establish Dhuni there, got this statue. Later the temple was built in this place.
